Test Drive Meme!
TEST DRIVE
» » » 07.11.16

Welcome to Avenger Academy RP's first ever Test Drive meme! This is for people to test out their characters, and get a feel for how they will work in this AU setting. Please read the Rules, and keep in mind that the first round is for people on the mod's Plurk only, though you are still free to post in preperation for next round. If you have any questions, please check the FAQ for answers, and leave questions there if they are not already answered.

The God of War presents himself as a mean, no funny business gym teacher, and lucky you, you're right in the middle of his class. Since the Arena of War is lost to the Time Fog, you're stuck doing drills at Avenger's Stadium. Expect to be put through sword fighting, take off and landing, shield practice, and of course the more mundane running laps and doing push ups. Magic is only to be used for shield practice, and anyone causing mischief will have to deal with Ares himself.
Doesn't mean you can't try, it just means it won't end well for you.

Avengers Assemble!
Octobots are attacking a lab space in downtown. Their target: a new chemical compound that is apparently more efficient in powering the wriggly bastards. Get to your assigned teams and get out there before they can make off with that compound, or the octopi will be having the city for dinner tonight!
And Director Fury doesn't give a damn if you don't like your teammates; work it out or don't, just get the job done.
» » » Hank Pym
Class is in session, and considering it's Professor Pym's class, it's probably going to blow up in a few minutes. It might be best to make sure your homework is finished and handed in before your lab mate goes for the chemical cabinet, because there's a high chance it'll be on fire otherwise. While your at it, be careful what you touch in the lab; you might end up having an electrifying experience.
...this lab has no safety precautions whatsoever, does it?

Sucks to be you; looks like you just got caught getting into things you shouldn't have been getting into, and the All Father himself found out about it. Now you're stuck in detention in the Timeless Archives, whittling away at a report that no superhero deserves to be put through. It doesn't look like Odin stuck around to make sure you finish it, though; is it worth risking the All Father's ire just to get a few hours on the dance floor at Club A?

One!
[ He flinched slightly as the octobot Han shot hit the ground, before turning his head slightly, trying not to look as uneasy as he felt at the moment. ]
...I could try to blast them?
[ Yu ended up flinching again as the leg of an octobot came slamming down into the ground uncomfortably close. ]
Though there's a chance I'll hurt us too.

He shoots out the octobot's leg, then, for good measure, shoots it again.]
Blast them--I think I've got an idea. [He peeks up.] Charge at them and blast them at close range. Or put that sword of yours to good use. I'll cover you.

[ Yu took a deep breath, before darting out from cover and toward the bot. Lightning charged the air around him as he ran, before he launched a Zio spell as close to the thing's "face" as he could. The robot reared, tentacles flailing as it struggled to regain its balance. ]

Han very rapidly readjusts his opinion of Yu. Damn, he doesn't want to get on the kid's bad side now.
The robot rears up, and Han shoots out one of its tentacles.]
Good job, Yu! [For all that he's brash and keeps telling people that he doesn't want to be here, that he's just here until he can pay off Jabba somehow or someone takes the guy out, Han actually kind of cares for the other students.] There's more coming, can you pull that off again?
no subject
I think so. If you can keep me covered!

I know. Arigato, Solo-san.
[ Of course, any tender, sparkly social link bonding moment was ruined as an octobot decided to try and squash Yu. Thankfully it missed, sending debris flying everywhere, and Yu was already reacting on instinct, his sword swinging up in an arc that relieved the robot of the offending appendage. ]
no subject
His eyes grow slightly wide. Wow, okay, that's--he's definitely revising his opinion of swords now. That was impressive.]
Keep your guard up, there's still plenty more! [Aim and shoot, aim and shoot. There's still more coming, and Han finds himself sincerely hoping the other teams are doing better than they are.] See if you can clear a path out, I'll be right behind you.
no subject
[ Yu frowned, looking around quickly before his eyes settled on a fire hydrant. They widened, an idea forming in his head. ]
Solo-san! Shoot the hydrant, then get clear!
no subject
You have got to be kidding.
[It's a risky plan, but it's a plan, which is better than none, so Han takes aim at the hydrant and fires, then proceeds to get out of the area and into the nearest dumpster as a goddamn geyser gushes out of the hydrant. Oh, boy, this had better not get him even more debt than he's already in.]
no subject
[ Yu took a few steps back as water erupted from the hydrant, soaking him and the swarm of octobots. This was a crazy plan, seeing as he was putting himself right in the line of fire as well. Could he withstand the lightning he generated? Only one way to find out, right? ]
[ His hand charged as he grabbed onto the feel of his magic, calling out another Zio spell. Only instead of striking any one of the octobots, he aimed it at the geyser instead, electrifying the water that was drenching the area. Unfortunately, he didn't really get to enjoy the sight of the octobots around him frying as the charge did in fact hit him as well, and next thing he knew he was on his back in a puddle, still twitching slightly as he stared up at the sky. ]
no subject
Wait.
Shit--]
Oh, hell, kid--Yu! [Rushing out of cover, racing to Yu's side. Or, well, goes as fast as he can without tripping over fried octobots.] Hey, Yu, you okay?
no subject
That was... shocking.
[ A slow smile worked its way onto his face. Yeah, he went there. ]
