The God of War presents himself as a mean, no funny business gym teacher, and lucky you, you're right in the middle of his class. Since the Arena of War is lost to the Time Fog, you're stuck doing drills at Avenger's Stadium. Expect to be put through sword fighting, take off and landing, shield practice, and of course the more mundane running laps and doing push ups. Magic is only to be used for shield practice, and anyone causing mischief will have to deal with Ares himself.

Doesn't mean you can't try, it just means it won't end well for you.

Avengers Assemble!

Octobots are attacking a lab space in downtown. Their target: a new chemical compound that is apparently more efficient in powering the wriggly bastards. Get to your assigned teams and get out there before they can make off with that compound, or the octopi will be having the city for dinner tonight!

And Director Fury doesn't give a damn if you don't like your teammates; work it out or don't, just get the job done.

Class is in session, and considering it's Professor Pym's class, it's probably going to blow up in a few minutes. It might be best to make sure your homework is finished and handed in before your lab mate goes for the chemical cabinet, because there's a high chance it'll be on fire otherwise. While your at it, be careful what you touch in the lab; you might end up having an electrifying experience.

...this lab has no safety precautions whatsoever, does it?

Sucks to be you; looks like you just got caught getting into things you shouldn't have been getting into, and the All Father himself found out about it. Now you're stuck in detention in the Timeless Archives, whittling away at a report that no superhero deserves to be put through. It doesn't look like Odin stuck around to make sure you finish it, though; is it worth risking the All Father's ire just to get a few hours on the dance floor at Club A?

Submarine Reflection!

[ A surge of energy knocks one octobot clear into a wall making a decent dent in the concrete after Michiru finally gets her incantation to work along with her mirror. She seems extremely pleased with herself, smiling even with a soft giggle of her own. ]

It worked! [ She slipped into japanese out of habit, but was quickly brought right back to reality dodging a metal arm coming her way. Clearly still having a lot to learn her dodge sends her smashing right into another student also sent out on this mission. ]

I'll apologize later just give me your hand. [ She reaches out to them. Once they grab a hold (if they do) she will pull them back up to their feet along with her. ] Why are there so many?

( Avengers Stadium )

[ Michiru hated outdoor sports with an intense passion regardless of how effortless her skills were at next to all the events she applied herself to--except for sword fighting. She couldn't nail the stance, even with Haruka's confident maneuvers clear in her mind.

She wasn't even holding a double-edge blade correctly. ]

Don't hold back on me. [ Adjusting her footing, she might be able to pull this off. . .assuming she doesn't cut herself first. ] I'm capable of keeping up. [ That's her pride talking. Maybe Haruka was rubbing off on her. She'd never be a fit Guardian if she couldn't get through basic training. ]

I have no idea, [says the teacher's assistant, dusting herself off with one hand and leaning on her staff with the other] but hey, the more the merrier, right?

[Hawke, your priorities.]

Nice trick with the mirror, by the way.

I guess I shouldn't have had so many sweets before this. I might be more up for a fight.

[ A half laugh, more for herself than Hawke. Michiru might be out of breath but it isn't from running from octobots. She isn't using her power efficiently and it leaves her tired at times. ]

It's a talisman I picked up. I never thought it would bond with me and take me to the Academy.

[Hei hadn't bothered to correct her, though mostly because he didn't recognize it. While he was trained to fight for a long time in many things, there were limits to what one man could achieve, especially when constantly sent out on missions back then. Which was why he had a sword as well, despite favoring knives. Could learn some stuff anyway.

He smiled at his sparring partner.]

Very well. Show me your moves then!

[ She tried to adjust her stance for a swing, not bothering with more smalltalk if only because it's clear she doesn't want to be here. Michiru might not have power behind her swings, like someone else she knows, but she is fast. Fast enough to make sure she has room to perry a counter swing assuming she doesn't mess up her stance yet again. ]

This is a lot harder than I imagined.

[Hei blocked, but did not attack, all to try and understand her form. They were certainly faster than he anticipated, but his words made him raise a brow as he blocked.]

What are you referring to? Me or your own skills?

[Hopefully that didn't come across as an insult...]

[... Well, that hurt. But hey, Hibiki's not going to say no to some help up. He'll gladly take Michiru's hand and grin. He'll reply (initially) in Japanese, since he heard her slip into it before she crashed into him.]

No apologies needed! I guess they really want that chemical. But the bigger they are, the harder they fall, right?

[ Cue one surprised look from her. She didn't expect someone to even understand what she had to say this far from home. ]

When aren't villains being single-minded? [ She teased, smiling. Luckily they have a little time before that octobot recovers from her attack. ] What part of Japan are you from?
