TEST DRIVE
» » » 07.11.16

Welcome to Avenger Academy RP's first ever Test Drive meme! This is for people to test out their characters, and get a feel for how they will work in this AU setting. Please read the Rules, and keep in mind that the first round is for people on the mod's Plurk only, though you are still free to post in preperation for next round. If you have any questions, please check the FAQ for answers, and leave questions there if they are not already answered.

The God of War presents himself as a mean, no funny business gym teacher, and lucky you, you're right in the middle of his class. Since the Arena of War is lost to the Time Fog, you're stuck doing drills at Avenger's Stadium. Expect to be put through sword fighting, take off and landing, shield practice, and of course the more mundane running laps and doing push ups. Magic is only to be used for shield practice, and anyone causing mischief will have to deal with Ares himself.
Doesn't mean you can't try, it just means it won't end well for you.

Avengers Assemble!
Octobots are attacking a lab space in downtown. Their target: a new chemical compound that is apparently more efficient in powering the wriggly bastards. Get to your assigned teams and get out there before they can make off with that compound, or the octopi will be having the city for dinner tonight!
And Director Fury doesn't give a damn if you don't like your teammates; work it out or don't, just get the job done.

Class is in session, and considering it's Professor Pym's class, it's probably going to blow up in a few minutes. It might be best to make sure your homework is finished and handed in before your lab mate goes for the chemical cabinet, because there's a high chance it'll be on fire otherwise. While your at it, be careful what you touch in the lab; you might end up having an electrifying experience.
...this lab has no safety precautions whatsoever, does it?

Sucks to be you; looks like you just got caught getting into things you shouldn't have been getting into, and the All Father himself found out about it. Now you're stuck in detention in the Timeless Archives, whittling away at a report that no superhero deserves to be put through. It doesn't look like Odin stuck around to make sure you finish it, though; is it worth risking the All Father's ire just to get a few hours on the dance floor at Club A?

[ He could tell Hibiki wasn't used to a sword, or any kind of weapon for that matter. Yu felt a little bad being the one with experience, even if he was self taught, since there was a high chance he'd knock him on his behind more than once. There was a moment he paused for breath, before he bowed politely. He was on the attack just after, trying to go easy on him for the first strike. ]

[And then suddenly Yu's on the attack and Hibiki's not sure how to deal--he's stepping back, almost by reflex, before he remembers he's got his own sword and he's bringing that up to block the strike... although it's a bit late for that. It's enough to nearly knock him off balance.
Well, this is off to an excellent start. He's not even sure he's holding this damn thing correctly.]
no subject
Sorry; you okay?
no subject
Yeah, I'm fine. I don't think I'm ever gonna be used to using one of these though.
no subject
If it's any consolation, I don't agree we should be proficient in every weapon. Finding a weapon we feel comfortable with and knowing how to counter others seems better.
no subject
Yeah... In the training I had before, we just picked something and stuck with it. To be honest, knowing how to counter others seems more productive than... [He grimaces a little at the sword in his hand.]
no subject
If you want... we could train with your weapon of choice? After class.
[ Because of Ares saw them going against his orders...? Yeah, no. ]
no subject
[Let's maybe not piss off Ares. He shifts a little and hefts up the sword again.]
Until then, I'll just have to make do here.
no subject
[ He offered him a small smile in encouragement. ]
Why don't you take a few swings at me?
no subject
[At least he's sort of holding the training sword correctly this time.]
no subject
[ He shook his head after a moment, holding his sword out in a defensive stance. Come and get him, Hibiki! ]
no subject
He nods, though, and charges with his practice sword. He takes a swing--it's a little clumsy, but he's doing his best to mimic Yu's movements from earlier.]
