The God of War presents himself as a mean, no funny business gym teacher, and lucky you, you're right in the middle of his class. Since the Arena of War is lost to the Time Fog, you're stuck doing drills at Avenger's Stadium. Expect to be put through sword fighting, take off and landing, shield practice, and of course the more mundane running laps and doing push ups. Magic is only to be used for shield practice, and anyone causing mischief will have to deal with Ares himself.

Doesn't mean you can't try, it just means it won't end well for you.

Avengers Assemble!

Octobots are attacking a lab space in downtown. Their target: a new chemical compound that is apparently more efficient in powering the wriggly bastards. Get to your assigned teams and get out there before they can make off with that compound, or the octopi will be having the city for dinner tonight!

And Director Fury doesn't give a damn if you don't like your teammates; work it out or don't, just get the job done.

Class is in session, and considering it's Professor Pym's class, it's probably going to blow up in a few minutes. It might be best to make sure your homework is finished and handed in before your lab mate goes for the chemical cabinet, because there's a high chance it'll be on fire otherwise. While your at it, be careful what you touch in the lab; you might end up having an electrifying experience.

...this lab has no safety precautions whatsoever, does it?

Sucks to be you; looks like you just got caught getting into things you shouldn't have been getting into, and the All Father himself found out about it. Now you're stuck in detention in the Timeless Archives, whittling away at a report that no superhero deserves to be put through. It doesn't look like Odin stuck around to make sure you finish it, though; is it worth risking the All Father's ire just to get a few hours on the dance floor at Club A?

[ If only Yu knew how wrong he was. He had the attitudes toward others flip flopped between Loki and Sif. Loki didn't care to get to know many others, but he sort of accepted that making acquaintances was just a part of being a student. ]

You can stop staring. [ He replied flatly. ] I'm not actually a woman. [ He knew that look but Yu didn't currently have anything Loki wanted therefore charms weren't being turned toward him for the fun of it.

Also he is technically lying. ]

[ What did he mean he could stop staring? Yu wasn't staring, he was staring. ]

I-I know that!

[ Not really; Loki's magic was on a level entirely different from the majority of the other students in their magic classes. He didn't know or understand half of the things Loki could do, and he suspected that he wasn't the only one. ]

What are you doing here?

[ Yu is definitely staring. ]

I'm not so sure you do.

[ He says as if gender is supposed to matter. Right? Right.

Loki finds the stairs up to the hot tub, all too nonchalant in sitting himself up on the edge of the tub. He doesn't particularly care if Stark sees him. ]

The same thing you are, but I was expecting to have the whole place to myself what with everyone else off on missions.

[ ...well, in his defense, there was a lot to stare at. Loki really shouldn't have legs that pretty. That was so not fair... ]

And everyone who isn't is using the dorm baths.

[ Which was why he was there, of course. He let out a sigh, before giving him an uncertain look. ]

We could... um... share?

[ It was a big tub, after all. ]

[ Loki broke into a fit of snickers. Why was Yu acting so nervous? ]

Obviously. You can't hog a hot tub the size of Stark's ego all to yourself.

[ And she doesn't hesitated to get in either. What? She finds reasons to relax as well. Plus, she didn't favor having to deal with congregating in the dorms either. ]

[ ...good thing it was hot in the hot tub, otherwise Yu was pretty sure it would be too obvious he was blushing. He backed up a comfortable distance from him, huddling against the side. ]

I don't think anything could share in that ego.

[ Loki, on the other hand, had no qualms relaxing in the hot tub big enough to hold at least a few people. He imagines Stark has a little too many female guests over but JARVIS had assured her the hot tub was regularly cleaned through and automated system designed by Stark himself. While she didn't trust him, she did trust his intelligence. ]

No, probably not without dying. [ She laughs. ] Or suffocating under one of his horrible jokes. He might as well be as bad as Professor Pym in the lab.

[ Yu tried to keep back the groan, a sheepish look coming to his face when he failed. Tony's jokes were agonizing, and Professor Pym... well, sometimes Yu wondered if that man was even in touch with reality 90% of the time. It made him miss Teddie's bear puns; at least they were not nearly as groan worthy. ]

[ He peered over at him after a moment, a softer expression coming to his face. ]

But... it's fun here. Right?

[ He may have sounded just a little hopeful that Loki would agree. ]

[ She had to take into consideration what he said. Fun. She didn't know yet. Maybe it was with Jan and her insistence on living something close to a normal life at a ridiculous academy, or getting to speak with Vision over the type of music he decided to make. Those instances were fun when people didn't assume he was only around to mess everything up.

Well, that wasn't what his aim was all the time anyway. ]

Sometimes. [ He settled on leaning against the edge of the hot tub to look down over the Academy's campus. ]

But I think sometimes is enough, don't you?

[ Yu paused a moment, a soft smile coming to his face. ]

Yeah... it makes those times even better.

[ He paused a moment, before peering over at him. ]

...do you mind if I ask you a personal question?

[ He shrugged his shoulders at that sinking further into the water. ]

I mind, but you can ask anyway.

[ Just because he wanted to ask didn't mean he had to answer. Maybe if it was an interesting enough question Loki might go for it. ]

[ ...well, he didn't tell him not to ask, so... ]

Why don't you appear as yourself more often?

[ Sorry what? ]

I'm myself all the time.

[ It just so happens he was being annoying by circumventing Stark's rules, but that had less to do with the disguise as it did rubbing in the fact that there are ways around his security later. ]

You know what I mean.

[ Don't you try and get out of giving a real answer to this, Loki. ]

[ Loki opens his mouth to say something, but he thinks better of it. ]

I'm being serious.

[ Usually, he isn't so dense but as far as he is aware he is himself pretty consistently? Whatever in the Nine Realms that was supposed to mean. He wasn't really prepared for the philosophical discussion in a hot tub. ]

I don't understand what you're getting at.

[ Yu let out a breath. English was hard, okay? ]

Why do you hide what you really look like?

[ Ah, so that's the topic they're on. ]

Why do you pretend to be quiet when it's clear you have a lot to say? Don't want burn bridges?

[ He did say Yu could ask. He didn't say he'd answer. ]

[ Yu paused a moment at the question, caught a little off guard by it. ]

...I haven't needed to until recently. I grew up alone.

And I grew up with an obnoxious family. You haven't answered my question.

[ Being quiet really isn't dependent on such factors. Some grow up alone and end up boisterous. ]

I just...

[ Yu withdrew a moment, contemplative. ]

...it's all I've ever known as far as how to act.

[ Actually, this was him being boisterous, really. Normally he kept to a corner and was silent, especially during classes. ]

Then I believe you have the answer to your question as well.

[ After all, Loki didn't know until she got to the Academy she had a different lineage. ]

I guess we're both stuck in old habits.

Oh... I see.

[ A guilty look crossed Yu's face then; he didn't realize Loki's situation. Hell, there was probably a lot none of them really knew about him. ]

I don't know why you're apologizing. You asked.

[ So he should expect the answer he gets isn't going to be a pleasant one when he so rudely asks about someone else's appearance. ]

Lighten up a little.

It... was a bit rude.

[ It was a sheepish admission, but he offered Loki a small smile nonetheless. ]

Yes it was, but I've heard worse.

[ A shrug of her shoulders. She was playing this off more than she ought to but it did bug her someone would just ask out of the blue as if they had any place to question it. It doesn't matter now, but it just makes her feel a little more self conscious. ]
